Notable alumni of the tournament include Lamine Camara, who has since risen to global prominence and was recently named Young Player of the Year at the 2024 CAF Awards.

The 18 qualified teams for CHAN 2024: Morocco, Guinea, Senegal Mauritania, Niger, Burkina Faso, Nigeria, Central African Republic, Congo, DR Congo, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Sudan, Rwanda, Zambia, Angola and Madagascar.
