According to the officers who led the operation, most of the casualties were foreign fighters within the ISIS ranks.

The Somali National News Agency (SONNA) reported that the Somali forces have gained control of all sites affected by the operation.

The officers emphasized that the operation will continue until the remaining ISIS elements are eliminated.

This development marks a significant blow to the terrorist group’s presence in the region.
