The abducted APC members were on their way to visit Abdulaziz Yari, the senator representing Zamfara West senatorial district, when the bandits attacked their convoy.

Among those abducted are Yahaya Sani Dogon Kade, chairman of Dan Isah ward, and Bello Dealer, chairman of Sakajiki ward.

Zamfara has been plagued by banditry and kidnapping, with the state being one of the bases of operation for notorious bandit Turji Bello, who is wanted by the Nigerian Army.

The state has witnessed several attacks in recent days, including the killing of two residents and the abduction of many people in Gusau and Bukuyyum Local Government Areas.
