The House of Representatives ad hoc committee on Rivers State has finally met with the state’s Sole Administrator, Retired Vice Admiral Ibok Ete Ibas, after several postponements.
The committee is exercising its constitutional right to oversee the state’s affairs following the suspension of Governor Siminalayi Fubara.
Ibas apologized for missing the previous meeting and requested more time to prepare, citing his ongoing settlement into the new role.
The meeting went into a closed-door session after journalists were excused, and Ibas left without commenting after about an hour.
The Rivers State Administrator had attended the National Economic Council meeting at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, before the meeting with the House committee.
