With capital projects taking the largest share of the budget, the spending plan aims to drive infrastructural development, improve service delivery, and address the growing needs of Abuja residents.

FCT Minister Nyesom Wike had expressed concerns over worsening security and healthcare challenges in the FCT, calling for urgent and coordinated national intervention.

He emphasized the critical role of Abuja as the seat of power and a diplomatic hub, requiring a unique and strategic security framework.

In the healthcare sector, Wike highlighted recent acquisitions of modern diagnostic equipment aimed at enhancing public health services throughout the FCT.

The budget formulation followed extensive consultations between the Minister and key officials of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) and the National Assembly.

With a focus on improving access to quality medical care and addressing security challenges, the ₦1.81 trillion budget is expected to have a significant impact on the development of Abuja and its satellite towns.
