Dangote Petroleum Refinery has called on Nigerians to report MRS stations selling Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) above the approved price of ₦739 per litre.

The company announced on Sunday that it has begun nationwide sales of petrol at ₦739 per litre across all MRS Oil Nigeria Plc filling stations. The price reduction marks a major milestone in the refinery’s efforts to provide affordable fuel and stabilise the downstream petroleum market.

With over 2,000 MRS stations nationwide, the refinery said the reduced pricing is expected to reach all consumers, and commended marketers already reflecting the new price at the pump.

“We commend MRS and other marketers who have demonstrated patriotism by implementing the reduced price. We urge others to join in support of Nigeria’s economic recovery,” the company stated.

Backed by a guaranteed daily supply of 50 million litres, the refinery highlighted that the initiative strengthens energy security, reduces Nigeria’s exposure to global price volatility, stabilises the Naira, and provides relief to households, businesses, and transport operators nationwide.

The company also warned against attempts to create artificial scarcity or manipulate supply in response to the price cut, urging regulatory agencies to act decisively.

Consumers were advised not to purchase fuel at inflated prices when cheaper alternatives are available. The refinery provided a dedicated line for reporting non-compliant stations: 0800 123 5264.

“Our goal is clear: ensure steady supply of high-quality petroleum products at affordable prices, support economic stability, and reduce dependence on imports,” the statement concluded.
