Former Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello has formally declared his interest in contesting the Kogi Central Senatorial seat in the 2027 general elections.
Bello received the All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial nomination forms at his Abuja residence from women’s groups who purchased the forms and urged him to run.
The former governor is also the APC consensus candidate for the district.
He is set to challenge incumbent Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the seat in 2027.
