Bandits have attacked a border community in Sokoto State, killing 7 residents and abducting 3 others. The attack occurred in Kyara village, Sabon Birni Local Government Area, near the Niger Republic border.
The attackers, reportedly armed with sophisticated weapons, invaded the community at 4am, firing sporadically and causing panic.
Joint security forces have been deployed to the area to evacuate the deceased and injured, and a manhunt has been launched for the assailants.
In a separate incident, 5 people were injured in Zamfara State after a suspected IED detonated along the Takalafiya-Gadar Zaima Road.
These incidents highlight growing security concerns in northwest Nigeria, where banditry, kidnappings, and explosive devices threaten lives and livelihoods.
