Despite the resistance, the gunmen managed to flee with the two victims.

Abuja has experienced a surge in kidnapping cases, prompting FCT Minister Nyesom Wike to pledge intensified efforts against kidnappers.

Acting on presidential directives, measures are being taken to enhance security, including the establishment of a Special Intervention Squad in the Federal Capital Territory by Inspector-General of Police Olukayode Egbetokun.

The squad has been deployed to address the escalating incidents, particularly in Bwari, where kidnappers are active. In response to inquiries, FCT Police Public Relations Officer SP Josphine Adeh directed all questions about the incident to the Army spokesperson.
