Nigeria U-17 Women National Team, Flamingoes defeated Central African Republic 6 nil in the first leg of their World Cup qualifier in Douala.

The Sunday match at the Stade Ominsport Douala saw the West African Giant scoring six goals against the Central African Nation. Harmony Chidi scored the first goal in the 5th minute before Prisca Nwachukwu doubled the lead in the 39th minute. The Flamingoes extended the lead to 3-0 as Harmony Chidi scored a brace as they took control of the game. Moshood Shakirat added a fourth goal before the halftime break.

The Flamingoes scored a fifth goal just ten minutes into the second half by Edidiong Etim before Moshood Shakirat completed the drubbing in the 72nd minute to give the Flamingoes a 6-0 win. The second leg of the match is scheduled to be held on Friday, February 9th, 2024 in Abuja.

The winner of the two legs encounter will play between Burkina Faso and Guinea in the Third round. Three teams will represent Africa at the Under 17 Women’s World Cup in Dominican Republic from the 16th of October to November 3rd, 2024. The Flamingoes finished the last edition in India as third after defeating Germany 3-2 on penalties.
