Super Eagles and Napoli Forward, Victor Osimhen scored a hattrick as Napoli beat Sassuolo 6-1 on Wednesday night.

Osimhen’s hat trick sees him equal the goal-scoring record of Late Argentina and Napoli Legend, Diego Maradona. The Super Eagles striker has now scored in three back-to-back games for Napoli as he took his league goal-scoring tally for the Italian Champions to eleven in fifteen games. According to Opta, Osimhen becomes only the third player in Napoli’s history to have scored ten or more goals for four consecutive seasons.

The late Maradona did that between 1929,1984 and 1988. Late Italian and Napoli Legend, Attila Sallustro achieved the same feat for Napoli between 1929/30 and 1932/33 seasons). After signing from Lille in 2020/21, Osimhen scored 10 goals in 24 league games in his first season and scored 14 goals in 27 games in his second season. He scored 26 goals in 32 games as Napoli won the Scudetto in the 2022/2023.
