Two Time Heavyweight World Champion, Anthony Joshua has vowed to make a statement and deliver a knockout victory when he faces off with Cameroonian boxer, Francis Ngannou on Friday in Saudi Arabia.

Anthony Joshua who is currently on a three-fight winning streak and is building back towards being in world title contention after defeating Otto Wallin in a dominant five-round win in December 2023. The British-born is expecting a different test against Ngannou in their non-title contest, having seen the Cameroonian lose to Tyson Fury via a split decision in his professional boxing debut in October 2023.

While speaking to the press, Joshua revealed that “I believe I can knock him out,” “Definitely. I would love to knock him out and make a statement. “Physically I feel strong, feeling good. Strong enough to get the job done and mentally I’m in a place where I’m ready for war. I am looking forward to the challenge. “Mentally I don’t worry so much about my opponent and look at what my opponent can bring to me and think, ‘how can I overcome these challenges they present?’ I work really hard to up my game and look forward to showing everything I’ve worked on.”

Ngannou who is the reigning UFC Champion before switching to Boxing is a unique addition to the heavyweight division. His unexpected showing against Tyson Fury in October 2023 was the type of surprise the boxing world is not accustomed to. Dropping one of the world’s best heavyweights in the third round and taking him to the 10-round distance was proof that the Cameroonian is not the type of boxer that can be pushed around.

The Boxing Match is expected to take place on Friday, March 8th 2024 at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
