The Flying Eagles of Nigeria lost 3-2 to Senegal in their final group B game of the 2023 African Games played on Friday night at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The Team Led by Coach Bosso got off to a bright start with Charles Agada who started the game against Sudan from the bench, opening the scoring in the second minute. In the 20th minute, Idrssa Traore scored an equalizer for Senegal before scoring another goal in the 28th minute to give the Young Teranga of Lions a 2-1 lead going to the halftime break.

Chibueze Izuogu scored a second goal for Nigeria to draw the match level in the 50th minute as the two teams continued to search for a winning goal. Senegal took the lead again in the 65th minute through and held on to full-time to ensure qualification from the group.

The coach Ladan Bosso-led side needed an outright win to book a semi-final spot having secured just three points from their two previous matches. The 3-2 result loss to Senegal means the Flying Eagles have crashed out of the All-Africa Games.
