Former Manchester United Player and England U-21 International , Axel Tuanzebe has switched his allegiance to play for DR Congo Football National Team.

This was revealed in a post with the Ipswich Town defender posing with a DR Congo shirt with the Coach of DR Congo National Team,Sebastian Desabre confirming the switch.

The defender’s only appearance for England’s U21 side came against Ukraine in 2017. He was called up to a preliminary DR Congo squad for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations but did not take part in the tournament. He might make his debut for DRCongo when they face Senegal in a World Cup qualifier in June.

Tuanzebe , a United academy graduate made his senior debut for the club in 2017 and made 37 appearances before leaving to join Ipswich in 2023.

The 26 years old has since made 14 appearances for the Championship side, playing under former Manchester United coach, Kieran McKenna. Tuanzebe will now be teammates with the likes of Yoane Wissa, Cedric Bakambu and Chancel Mbemba in DR Congo National Team.
