Senegal’s president-elect, Bassirou Diomaye Faye, will assume office in April following his victory in the March 24 presidential contest.
The popular Ousmane Sonko, the boss of the former tax inspector, was disqualified from running for office by the courts due to statutory convictions for serious offences, thus the former tax inspector entered the campaign as the leading opponent.
Diomaye Faye officially disclosed all of his assets on his official Facebook page two days before the election (March 22, 2024), and he urged the other eighteen candidates to follow suit.

According to the article, he had two houses built and two used cars purchased during his time employed by the government.
In addition, he owned two bank accounts and a home that he constructed. The record additionally verified that he was a farmer and that the primary obligation he owed was to a buddy from whom he had borrowed money to finance improvements to his property.
Many people on social media have praised the 44-year-old for his candour even before he succeeded outgoing president Macky Sall.
He has declared that upon taking office, he will present the paper to the Constitutional Court as required by law.
