The luxury Hay Andalus neighbourhood in Tripoli, home to Libyan Prime Minister Abdulhamid Dbeibah’s residence, was rocked by explosions as rocket-propelled grenades targeted the premier’s compound.

Fortunately, there were no casualties reported in the attack, which caused some damage to the property.

Heavy security forces swiftly responded to the scene after the blasts, deploying around the area to secure the vicinity.

The incident highlights the ongoing instability in Libya since the 2011 NATO-backed uprising, with the country divided between eastern and western factions.

Despite efforts to establish unity, political deadlock persists, fueled by the parliament’s refusal to recognize the legitimacy of Dbeibah’s Government of National Unity following a failed attempt to hold national elections
