A fire broke out at a popular Lagos Island market, Dosunmu Market, on Tuesday.

An X user, Adunni, shared a video from the scene, stating, “Just in guys, Eko Idumota (Dosunmu) Market is on fire due to generator explosion, and no firefighters in sight yet.

“The fire keeps going up. People are running for safety.”

It was gathered that while putting out the fire, an adult female collapsed and was promptly attended to by Paramedics from the LRU Pre-Hospital Care Unit at the incident scene.

The victim was evacuated to Marina General Hospital for continued medical attention, while the Agency expanded operations with additional Units, manpower and equipment to support activities of LASG Fire and Rescue Service and co-responders at the incident scene.

This incident comes 24 hours after a three-Storey building was razed down by fire in the Balogun area of Idumota on Monday.
