Nigerian Forward, Victor Boniface, scored the winning goal as Bayer Leverkusen defeated West Ham 2 nil in the UEFA Europa League on Thursday night.
The 23-year-old had been sidelined with an adductor injury, which kept him out of action for several months. However, his return to form was evident as he played a key role in securing the important win for his team.

In a post-match interview, Boniface expressed his happiness at being able to play football again, stating, “I feel good, I feel happy to be playing football again. It was not easy after being injured for two, three months, I missed a lot of games and I am still trying to come back. I am happy to come and help my team.”

Reflecting on the victory against West Ham, Boniface highlighted the team’s strategy and patience as key factors in securing the win. “We played West Ham in pre-season and so we know the type of game they play. The important thing was to be patient, play our style and convert our chances when they come and that’s what we did,” he commented.

With the win, Bayer Leverkusen now finds themselves in a favorable position to qualify for the semi-finals of the UEFA Europa League. Boniface’s return to action has undoubtedly bolstered the team’s chances as they continue their pursuit of success in both domestic and European competitions.
