The Squirrels of Benin Republic are set to host the Super Eagles of Nigeria in matchday four of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

Due to sub-standard conditions in their stadiums, Gernot Rohr’s team will play this fixture at the Felix Houphouet Boigny Stadium in Abidjan, a neutral venue. This stadium holds a familiar atmosphere for the Super Eagles, having played three matches during the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.

Before facing the Squirrels, the Super Eagles will host the Bafana Bafana of South Africa on Friday, June 7th, 2024.

Despite being three-time African champions, Nigeria is yet to secure a win in the qualifiers, having drawn their opening two matches against Lesotho and Zimbabwe. They failed to qualify for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar losing the spot to West African Rivals, Ghana.
