Ghanian’s Bastie Samir has revealed that he will retire from boxing if Idowu manages to defeat him again in a rematch.

The knockout occurred during their bout for the vacant Universal Boxing Organization (UBO) African Light Heavyweight title, where Idowu secured victory with a barrage of punches, causing Samir to lose consciousness and prompting the medical team to intervene.

Despite the devastating loss, Samir is eager for a rematch, citing a belief that Idowu’s foul punch contributed to his defeat. “The truth is that when he punched the back of my head, I shouldn’t have continued the fight but I continued to fight that’s why it became a draw,” Samir explained on Asempa FM.
Expressing a desire to redeem himself, the 37-year-old boxer emphasized his commitment to a rematch, stating, “I will give him a rematch and this time I am putting my boxing career on the line. If he beats me in the rematch, I will retire from boxing,” as reported by GhanaWeb Sports.

Initially, despite knocking down Samir twice, Idowu was denied victory. However, the UBO later declared him the rightful winner of the fight, thereby awarding him the African Light Heavyweight title.
