The Refereeing Development Committee of the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, has taken action against center referee, Tijani Usman Majidadi, banning him from officiating Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) matches.

Majidadi’s suspension stems from his subpar performance during the NPFL match between Rivers United and Katsina United in Port Harcourt on the 25th of April 2024. The match is one of the outstanding matches Rivers United missed when they were still participating in the CAF Confederation Cup before they were eliminated by USM Algers.
The NFF expressed dissatisfaction with Majidadi’s decisions, stating that they not only impacted the match’s outcome but also violated the Laws of the Game.

Rivers United emerged victorious with a 2-0 win, marking one of their outstanding games.
The letter addressed to Majidadi and Gombe State FA outlined the suspension, citing the referee’s actions as detrimental to the game’s integrity.
