The CAF African Football Schools Championship (ASFC) is a program designed to nurture aspiring coaches in Africa.

In its second season, the program goes beyond talent scouting, embodying CAF President, Dr. Patrice Motsepe’s vision of investing in African youth.

One of the program’s highlights is the CAF D License Coaching Course, strategically rolled out across all Zonal Union qualifiers to address the shortage of qualified coaches at the grassroots level. This season, 210 aspiring coaches were trained and qualified, enriching Africa’s coaching talent pool.

Alongside the competition, CAF conducted capacity-building programs like the Young Referees, Young Reporters, Young Medical Officers, and CAF Safeguarding workshops. These initiatives aim to holistically develop football in Africa, ensuring a sustainable future.

As the highly anticipated CAF African Schools Football Championship Finals 2024 scheduled to kick off in Zanzibar from May 21st to 24th 2024, the focus on capacitating and upskilling young African coaches continues. The Confederation of African Football remains steadfast in its mission to develop football in Africa, led by Dr.Motsepe’s vision of Investing in the Youth of Africa.

This championship, featuring Under-15 boys and girls is a testament to Dr. Motsepe’s innovative approach. Winners will receive substantial prize money, courtesy of CAF’s partnership with the Motsepe Foundation, to fund development projects within African schools.
