The Confederation of African Football (CAF) announced that all 20 players presented by Nigeria for the WAFU B U17 Championship have passed the MRI eligibility examination.

This declaration confirms the accuracy of the tests conducted by the Nigeria Football Federation before the team’s departure and ensures that Nigeria will have a full squad to defend the title they won last year ahead of the championship in Ghana.
Head Coach, Manu Garba expressed his delight, stating, “We are happy about the results. Having the whole squad ready for the tournament puts our minds at rest. The players have been responding well to training, and the weather is similar to what we experienced in Abuja before our departure. Our primary objective is to secure one of the two tickets to the Africa U17 Cup of Nations. We will focus on the matches one at a time, starting with our opening game against Burkina Faso on Thursday.”

The Eaglets will begin their title defense against Burkina Faso at the University Stadium on Thursday, May 16th, with kick-off set for 3 pm Ghana time (4 pm Nigeria time). They will then face Niger Republic on Sunday, May 19th (6 pm Ghana, 7 pm Nigeria) and Togo on Wednesday, May 22nd (4 pm Ghana, 5 pm Nigeria).
The match against Niger Republic will also take place at the University Stadium, while the clash with Togo will be held at the Accra Sports Stadium.
