Leverkusen’s unbeaten streak now spans 51 games in all competitions, breaking a 59-year-old UEFA record. They are just two wins away from achieving a remarkable treble, with the Europa League final against Atalanta in Dublin on Wednesday, followed by the German Cup final against second-tier club, Kaiserslautern three days later.

In a celebratory atmosphere, Leverkusen dominated Augsburg. Victor Boniface opened the scoring after 12 minutes, converting Amine Adli’s pass, and Robert Andrich doubled the lead with a close-range effort.

Despite a second-half strike from Mert Komur, Leverkusen secured a memorable league campaign finish. They surpassed Benfica’s 49-game unbeaten run from 1963 to 1965, winning 28 of their 34 Bundesliga games, scoring 89 goals, and conceding just 24. Their last league defeat was a 3-0 loss to Bochum at the end of last season. If they remain unbeaten in their final two games, they will extend their streak to 53 games without a loss.
