Senator Idiat Oluranti Adebule, representing Lagos West District, has praised the Supreme Court’s judgment on local government financial autonomy, calling it a significant step toward Nigeria’s organic growth and development through the grassroots.
Senator Adebule commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his persistence in pursuing the matter through the courts, ensuring the rule of law prevails in Nigeria. She noted that the apex court’s decision has empowered local councils financially, enhancing their ability to address grassroots challenges.
The former deputy governor of Lagos State emphasized that the responsibility now rests on local council leaders to meet the expectations of the public. She also lauded the judiciary for delivering justice to Nigerians and helping to stabilize the political system.
