Gabon Striker, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has announced his departure from Olympique Marseille after spending one season with the French club.

The 35-year-old joined the French side from Chelsea in July 2023 and scored 30 goals across all competitions, helping Marseille finish eighth in Ligue 1 and reach the semi-finals of the UEFA Europa League, where he was the top scorer with 10 goals.

Aubameyang shared a heartfelt message on Instagram to announce his departure from Marseille.

“Had an emotional year and I want to thank the entire club, the staff, my teammates, and our supporters,” he wrote. “You made me stronger and these memories with you will be etched forever. As you know, I have always followed my dad’s advice, which has helped me become the player I am. Therefore, we made the decision to further my career. Time for me to start a new chapter.”

Aubameyang is now expected to join Saudi Pro League side, Al-Qadsiah on a reported two-year deal. He will join Spanish defender Nacho Fernandez, Belgium goalkeeper, Koen Casteels, Uruguay attacker, Nahitan Nandez, and Mexican forward, Julian Quinones in signing for the Khobar-based side this summer.
