Netflix has increased its subscription prices in Nigeria once more, with the Premium Plan rising by 40% from N5,000 to N7,000 per month.
This marks the second price adjustment by the streaming platform within three months, following an earlier increase in April.
According to an update on the company’s website, the Standard plan, favored by many Nigerian subscribers for its HD quality and multi-screen options, now costs N5,500, up from N4,000, a 37.5% increase.
The Basic plan has gone up by 21% from N2,900 to N3,500, while the Mobile plan, the most affordable option, has seen a significant 83% rise from N1,200 to N2,200.
In April, Netflix had increased the Premium Plan from N4,400 to N5,000. The Standard Plan also saw a rise from N3,600 to N4,000, while the Basic Plan remained at N2,900.
At the time, Netflix explained that the price adjustments were part of a broader strategy to revise subscription fees across different regions. The company stated that these changes aim to accelerate revenue and earnings growth and support the expansion of content offerings.
