The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has announced a call for applications to fill the vacant position of head coach for the men’s U-20 national team, the Flying Eagles.
This position was previously held by Ladan Bosso, who recently joined Bayelsa United in the Nigeria Premier Football League. Bosso’s contract with the NFF ended following the 2023 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Argentina, although he continued to lead the team during the 2023 African Games in Ghana, where they were eliminated in the group stage.

With the qualifiers for the 2025 U-20 World Cup in Chile approaching, the NFF is now seeking a new coach for the Flying Eagles.
According to the public notice on the Federation’s website, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Hold at least a CAF B License
- Have a minimum of five years of experience in football coaching
- Be familiar with Nigeria’s domestic football scene
- Exhibit strong leadership qualities and effective communication skills in English
- Demonstrate transparency and integrity in their duties
- Be prepared to collaborate with the NFF Technical Department and Technical Sub-Committee
- Have achieved some level of success in coaching over the past three years
- Be willing to work harmoniously with the NFF leadership
Applications are open to all Nigerian coaches, including those based abroad.
