In response to the escalating unrest from the #EndBadGovernance protests in Kano State, Governor Abba Yusuf has declared a 24-hour curfew with immediate effect.
Announcing the decision at the Kano State Government House, Governor Yusuf emphasized that the curfew is necessary to safeguard lives and properties.
He noted that the initially peaceful protest had been hijacked by hoodlums and thugs, resulting in looting and the indiscriminate killing of innocent citizens.
Governor Yusuf has directed all security agencies to ensure full and immediate compliance with the curfew.
The protest, which began peacefully, turned violent as criminal elements took advantage of the situation, prompting this decisive action from the state government.
