Despite President Bola Tinubu’s nationwide broadcast, #EndBadGovernance demonstrators gathered at Gani Fawehinmi Freedom Park in Ojota on Monday to resume their protest.

The organizers of the #EndBadGovernanceInNigeria campaign, Hassan Taiwo, Ayoyinka Oni, and Adegboyega Adeniji, released a statement on Sunday indicating that President Tinubu’s speech did not address their demands, prompting the continuation of their demonstration.

The organizers expressed their disappointment, noting they had listened intently to the president’s Sunday address.

They stated it was “rather unfortunate” that Tinubu chose to speak to the nation only after three days of protests. In his broadcast, President Tinubu acknowledged the protestors’ concerns and promised that his administration was ready to respond to them.

The organizers considered the decision to address the nation an “important victory for our movement,” but reiterated the need for further action.
