French Football Club, Marseille has suspended Algerian player, Rayan Hassad following accusations that he wished teammate Chancel Mbemba a happy birthday in a “provocative” manner.

The 18-year-old midfielder shared a post on Instagram featuring a photo of himself and Mbemba, accompanied by the message, “Happy birthday cousin.”
However, Mbemba, the former Newcastle defender, reportedly did not take kindly to the term “cousin.” The Congo international had previously been suspended by the club after a clash with reserve team manager, Ali Zarrak, which also involved being repeatedly called “cousin.”

In response to Hassad’s post, Marseille decided to suspend the youngster, who has been out of favor since Roberto De Zerbi took over as manager. According to Report, the suspension is being described as a precautionary measure.

Hassad, who has been playing with the reserves since De Zerbi’s arrival, has since apologized for the social media post.
