Former Ogun State Governor, Ibikunle Amosun, has cautioned the Federal Government of Nigeria against negotiating with Zhongshan Fucheng Industrial Investment Co. Limited following the controversial seizure of three Nigerian presidential jets in Paris.

The jets, undergoing routine maintenance, were seized by the Chinese firm as “security” in a longstanding legal dispute with the Ogun State government. Amosun, who served as governor from 2011 to 2019, labeled the Chinese firm as an “impostor” and warned that negotiating with them would be a mistake.

He recounted the history of the dispute, emphasizing that Zhongfu International Investment FXE, which claims management rights over the Ogun Guangdong Free Trade Zone, had lost multiple court cases in Nigeria and was not the rightful investor.
Amosun urged the Nigerian government to treat the case like the P&ID case and avoid falling victim to a potential scam.
