Falconets head coach, Chris Danjuma, has declared that the team is in Colombia to win the 2024 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup title.
Danjuma and his squad arrived in Bogota on Sunday night for a two-week training camp, during which they will play friendly matches against Australia and Mexico as part of their preparation for the tournament.

The coach emphasized that the team has been given the mandate to bring the trophy back to Nigeria. “We have the mandate and support of the Government and people of Nigeria to come here and give it our best fight-and-push,” Danjuma said upon the team’s arrival in Bogota.
“Our Sports Minister reminded us that Nigeria finished second in 2010 and 2014, and reached the semi-finals in 2012. He charged us to come back with the trophy this time, and that is our objective.”

Nigeria has been drawn into Group D, where they will face Germany, Venezuela, and Korea Republic. Colombia will host the tournament from August 31st to September 22nd, 2024.
