NIGERIA: Ejuke and Iheanacho Make LaLiga Debuts in Sevilla Loss to Villarreal

Nigeria’s Chidera Ejuke and Kelechi Iheanacho made their La Liga debuts for Sevilla in a disappointing 2-1 defeat to Villarreal on Friday night.

Ejuke was brought on in the 71st minute, followed by Iheanacho in the 77th minute. Despite their efforts, Sevilla couldn’t secure their first win of the season, with Villarreal clinching victory through a stoppage-time goal.

Villarreal opened the scoring early, with Arnaut Danjuma finding the net. Sevilla’s Dodi Lukebakio equalized in the sixth minute of first-half stoppage time. However, Ayoze Perez scored the decisive goal for Villarreal in the 95th minute.

After two games, Sevilla find themselves in 16th place in the league standings with just one point.
