Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, will lead his colleagues from the Southwest, prominent Yoruba leaders, and other relevant stakeholders at the Yoruba National Day lecture scheduled to take place on Monday at the Prof. Wole Soyinka Lecture Theatre, University of Ibadan.

Governor Sanwo-Olu, who also serves as the chairman of the occasion, will deliver a lecture entitled “National Unity and Agitation for Self-Determination: The Way Forward for Nigeria.”

The event will also feature the conferment of the Ori Olokun Odu’a Award on the Chairman and Publisher of the Tribune titles, Ambassador (Dr.) Tokunbo Awolowo-Dosumu; Dr. Abimbola Samuel Ladoke Akintola; Otunba (Senator) Gbenga Daniel, former Governor of Ogun State; Chief Bayo Adelabu, Minister of Power; Hon. (Justice) Olukayode Ariwoola, GCON, retired Chief Justice of Nigeria; and Mr. Kayode Egbetokun, Inspector General of Police.

Other recipients include Senator Shehu Sani; Prof. Kayode Adebowale, mni, Vice Chancellor of the University of Ibadan; Prof. Isaac Adewole, former Vice Chancellor of the University of Ibadan and former Minister of Health; Senator Yemi Adaramodu; Alhaji Dauda Makanjuola Akinola (D-Damak), Aare (President) Muslumi of Yorubaland, Edo, and Delta States; Alhaji Muideen Bello; Engineer (Mrs.) Abimbola Akinajo, Managing Director of Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA); Apostle (Dr.) S.M.O Mustapha, JP, (Babasebioba); Kunle Afolayan; and Ibrahim Chatta.

The list also includes Princess Toyin Kolade, Iyalaje Odu’a; Senator Dayo Adeyeye, Chairman of the Board of Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA); Prof. Soji Adejumo, former Chairman of SUBEB, Oyo State; and Hon. (Dr.) Ibraheem Olajide Salami, a.k.a Dikko, Chairman and Sole Administrator of Pacesetter Transport Services, Oyo State.
