In a tragic incident in the Gadabuke community of Toto Local Government Area, Nasarawa State, gunmen attacked the residence of Agaba Yakubu, leading to the death of one man and the abduction of two others. The deceased has been identified as Garba Yakubu.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Ramhan Nansel, confirmed the incident, stating that the attack occurred early Monday morning.
“On August 25, 2024, at about 2 a.m., a distress call was received by the Divisional Police Officer of Toto Division, reporting that unknown gunmen had invaded the residence of Agaba Yakubu. During the attack, Garba Yakubu was shot, and two others were kidnapped,” Nansel explained.
Following the attack, police operatives were mobilised to the scene, where they recovered Garba Yakubu’s body, which was subsequently handed over to his family for burial according to Islamic rites.
In response to the abductions, the Police Commissioner has reinforced the Toto Police Division and initiated a search and rescue operation to locate the kidnapped individuals and apprehend the culprits.
