Africa’s Football Governing Body, CAF has appointed Egyptian referee, Amin Mohamed Omar, a FIFA official since 2017, to officiate the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match between Nigeria’s Super Eagles and the Cheetahs of Benin Republic.

The game is set for next week at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo, kicking off at 5 p.m. Nigeria time. Omar will be supported by fellow Egyptians, Mahmoud Abouelregal (Assistant Referee 1), Ahmad Hossam Taha (Assistant Referee 2), and Ahmed ElGhandour (Fourth Official). This match will mark the debut of Nigeria’s new manager, Bruno Labbadia, as they face a Benin team coached by former Nigeria Coach, Gernot Rohr.
Additionally, Ghanaian official, Munkaila Nassam Adam has been appointed as the match commissioner, with Senegal’s Fatou Gaye serving as the referee assessor and Ivorian Atte Claude Elloh as the security officer.
