2023/ 2024 Enugu Rangers NPFL winning Head coach, Fidelis Ilechukwu has been appointed to assist Augustine Eguavoen in Nigeria’s 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Benin Republic and Rwanda.

Eguavoen will lead the Super Eagles for these two crucial matches. Ilechukwu, who successfully guided Rangers to their ninth Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) title last season, brings valuable experience to the team.

The former Plateau United and Heartland coach has previously served as an assistant to former U-23 Eagles coach, Imama Amapakabo.

Additionally, Remo Stars, head coach Daniel Ogunmodede was named as another assistant to Eguavoen on Monday. The Super Eagles will face the Cheetahs of Benin Republic at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo on Saturday, September 7th, 2024.

The three-time African champions will then take on the Amavubi of Rwanda at the Amahoro Stadium in Kigali on Tuesday, September 10th, 2024.
