Victor Osimhen has officially joined Galatasaray on a season-long loan from Napoli, bringing an end to a prolonged transfer saga.

The Nigerian striker will wear jersey number 45 and is set to earn a net salary of €6 million (over N10 billion) for the 2024-2025 season. Galatasaray confirmed the deal on Wednesday, stating, “An agreement has been reached with professional footballer Victor James Osimhen and his club SSC Napoli SPA for the temporary transfer of the player free of charge.”

The club also disclosed that Osimhen’s contract includes an option for Napoli to extend it until 2027. Osimhen was greeted by thousands of enthusiastic Galatasaray fans upon his arrival in Istanbul to finalize the move. His transfer saga, which saw him linked to clubs like Chelsea, PSG, and Saudi Arabia’s Al Ahli, has finally concluded with his move to Turkey.

The Nigerian international follows in the footsteps of compatriots such as Henry Onyekuru and Oghenekaro Etebo, who also had stints at Galatasaray. As Osimhen embarks on this new chapter, he will be keen to make his mark at the Istanbul-based club.
