The Super Eagles of Nigeria were held to a goalless draw against the Wasps of Rwanda at the Amahoro stadium in Kigali on Tuesday Evening.

Coach of the Nigeria Super Eagles, Eguavoen made just one change to the squad that defeated Benin three-nil, with Fisayo Dele-Bashiru replacing Alex Iwobi in the starting lineup. Victor Osimhen, who scored in the previous match, was also on the bench, with Victor Boniface leading the attack once again.

Nigeria dominated much of the first half, creating numerous scoring opportunities but failing to find the back of the net. Ademola Lookman had a goal disallowed in the 22nd minute for a foul by Boniface, while Boniface himself saw a powerful effort hit the crossbar, with Lookman’s follow-up cleared off the line.

Bruno Onyemaechi came close to breaking the deadlock after connecting with a cross from Semi Ajayi, but his header went narrowly wide. Despite their missed chances, Eguavoen’s Super Eagles were the more dominant side at halftime.
