The fierce rivalry between Africa’s top table tennis nations, Nigeria and Egypt, is set to reignite at the 2024 ITTF African Championships in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, from October 12th to 19th 2024.
This highly anticipated tournament will serve as qualifiers for the 2024 ITTF Mixed Team Cup in China and the 2025 World Championships in Qatar.

Competing in men’s and women’s teams, singles, doubles, and mixed doubles events, Africa’s best will face off in a heated battle. Egypt, the reigning champions, will be challenged by arch-rivals Nigeria, along with strong contenders like Tunisia and Algeria.

Returning to Ethiopia after 24 years, the Local Organising Committee promises an exciting competition. The President of the African Table Tennis Federation (ATTF), Khaled El-Salhy praised Ethiopia’s preparations, following their successful hosting of the Eastern Regional Championships in 2023, which secured them the hosting rights for this major event.

He emphasized the high level of competition expected as players vie for qualification for the 2025 World Championships in Qatar.
