Nigerian Air Force Begins Airlift of Election Materials for Edo Governorship Election

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has commenced the air transportation of election materials for the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to Benin, Edo State, ahead of the upcoming governorship election on September 21, 2024.

In a statement released on Wednesday, Kabiru Ali, the Deputy Director of Public Relations and Information for the NAF, emphasized that this operation is part of a strategic effort to ensure the timely and secure delivery of sensitive materials crucial for the smooth conduct of the elections.

Ali stated, “This airlift demonstrates the ongoing collaboration between NAF and INEC, aimed at streamlining logistics and contributing to a peaceful election process in Edo State.”

The Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar, had earlier assured INEC Chairman, Professor Mahmood Yakubu, of NAF’s commitment to supporting the swift movement of electoral materials during a recent meeting.
