Nigerian striker, Victor Olatunji made a stunning UEFA Champions League debut, scoring a goal and providing an assist in Sparta Prague’s dominant 3-0 win over Red Bull Salzburg on Wednesday.

Olatunji doubled Sparta Prague’s lead in the 42nd minute with a well-placed strike and later set up Qazim Laçi for the team’s third goal in the 58th minute. His remarkable performance places him among a select group of African players to have both scored and assisted on their Champions League debut.

According to Opta Joe, Olatunji is the third African player—and the first Nigerian—to achieve this feat, joining Daniel Cousin (Rangers vs Lyon, 2007) and Serge Aurier (PSG vs Shakhtar Donetsk, 2015) in this exclusive club.

To celebrate his goal, Olatunji lifted his jersey, revealing an undershirt with the message, “I am a Chosen, who are you?”—a reference to a viral trend that has sparked conversation across social media platforms.
This trend gained momentum after testimonies shared by members of The Lord’s Chosen Charismatic Revival Ministries went viral, leading to widespread engagement and parodies online. The church’s leadership, however, has clarified that some of the viral content has been misrepresented or doctored, urging caution about misleading online content. They emphasized that the original testimonies occurred in dreams and have been taken out of context by some users.
