Samuel Eto’o, the president of the Cameroon Football Federation (Fecafoot) and former professional footballer, has been banned from attending national team matches for six months due to violations of FIFA’s disciplinary regulations.

This sanction applies to all men’s and women’s games across various age groups.

The ban stems from Eto’o’s actions during the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup round-of-16 match between Brazil and Cameroon on September 11, 2024. FIFA did not disclose specific details but stated that Eto’o was found guilty of “offensive behavior,” violations of “the principles of fair play,” and misconduct involving officials.

This decision comes shortly after Eto’o was fined by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) for breaches of ethical and integrity standards. Eto’o has served as Fecafoot president since 2021.
