The official draw for the Group Stages of the TotalEnergies CAF Champions League 2024/25 season has set the stage for an electrifying phase of Africa’s top club competition.

Africa’s most successful club, reigning champions Al Ahly SC of Egypt, with 12 titles, headlines one of the toughest groups: Group C. They are joined by Algeria’s CR Belouizdad, former champions Orlando Pirates, and newcomers Stade D’Abidjan, making their first-ever group stage appearance.

Notably, all six CAF Zonal Unions are represented this season, showcasing the remarkable growth of African football across the continent.

Five-time champions TP Mazembe lead Group A, facing the steadily rising Young Africans, a competitive Al Hilal, and Algeria’s MC Alger.

In Group B, 2016 champions Mamelodi Sundowns, still chasing a second title, will travel north twice to take on three-time champions Raja Casablanca and AS FAR, both from Morocco. Completing the group is Maniema Union FC from DR Congo, who are enjoying a dream debut with their first-ever group stage appearance.

Group C, of course, is headlined by Al Ahly SC as they seek to further extend their dominance in African football.
The final group, Group D, sees last season’s runners-up, ES Tunis, facing stiff competition from the ambitious Pyramids FC, alongside two group stage debutants—GD Segrada Esperança and Djoliba AC of Mali.
