Nigeria Super Eagles captain, Ahmed Musa found the back of the net as Kano Pillars edged out defending champions, Enugu Rangers 4-3 in a thrilling Nigeria Premier Football League matchday 7 clash at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium on Wednesday.

The 32-year-old forward capped off the first half with a goal in stoppage time, bringing his tally to three in two matches since rejoining his boyhood club in September for the remainder of the season. Musa had made his return with a brace in Pillars’ 2-0 win over Sunshine Stars on October 6.
Kano Pillars dominated the first half, racing to a commanding 4-0 lead. Veteran midfielder, Rabiu Ali opened the scoring in the 15th minute with his third goal of the season, converting a penalty after a Rangers defender handled the ball in the box following a cross from Musa. Zulkifilu Muhammed doubled the lead in the 28th minute, netting his first of the season after a setup from Musa, who outpaced his marker on the flank. Musa added another from the penalty spot just before halftime, sprinting from midfield, weaving past four defenders, and slotting home with class.

Rangers mounted a valiant comeback in the second half. Isaac Saviour scored twice, reducing the deficit in the 47th and 59th minutes. Emmanuel Nenrot added a third goal for Rangers in stoppage time, but the visitors held on for the 4-3 victory.
