Today, Nigerian football fans will enjoy a rare opportunity to watch four Super Eagles players in action in a Premier League showdown, as Wilfred Ndidi’s Leicester City hosts Nottingham Forest, featuring Ola Aina, Taiwo Awoniyi, and Emmanuel Dennis, at King Power Stadium.

Wilfred Ndidi (Leicester City)
Ndidi, a key figure in Leicester’s lineup, has started every one of the club’s eight Premier League matches in the 2024/2025 season. The 27-year-old midfielder has been in stellar form since joining Leicester from Genk in the 2016/2017 season for €17.6 million. This season, he ranks third in the league with four assists, adding to his impressive performances last year, where he played 32 matches, scored four goals, and recorded five assists in the Championship, helping Leicester secure promotion.

Ola Aina, Taiwo Awoniyi, Emmanuel Dennis (Nottingham Forest)
The versatile 28-year-old wingback Ola Aina has impressed in every game for Forest this season, bringing energy with his overlapping runs and solid defense. He, too, has started all eight Premier League matches. Last season, Aina played 22 games for Forest, contributing a goal and an assist following his move from Torino, where he previously played 72 league games, scoring once and providing three assists.

Taiwo Awoniyi has had limited playing time this season due to injuries and has made five appearances, with only one start and a total of 85 minutes on the pitch. Awoniyi will likely start from the bench today, aiming to make an impact when given the chance. Last season, he scored six goals and provided three assists in 20 appearances for Nottingham Forest.

Emmanuel Dennis, 26, has yet to feature in a Premier League match this season. His last appearance came on April 27, 2024, when he played 45 minutes for Watford in a 1-0 victory over Sunderland. Dennis returned to Nottingham Forest in July 2024 after a loan spell at Watford, where he made 52 league appearances, netting 14 goals and delivering six assists.
