The presidency has officially ruled out the possibility of suspended Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management, Betta Edu, returning to President Bola Tinubu’s cabinet.

This was confirmed by Bayo Onanuga, the Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, during an interview on Sunday in Abuja. Onanuga stated that since Edu’s suspension in January, she has been replaced by another individual in the cabinet, and there are no plans to reinstate her.

“Betta is gone… Her position has been taken over by somebody else,” Onanuga emphasized. When asked about any potential indictment by the EFCC, he noted that the agency has not publicly disclosed any information but hinted that the president’s decision not to recall Edu suggests the agency may have provided relevant details justifying her suspension.
