Martins Otse, widely known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), is set to appear in court today on charges of unauthorized use of police uniforms. The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command confirmed in a statement on Friday that they are leading the prosecution after a recent viral video showed Otse in Nigeria Police Force attire, allegedly without permission.
The police emphasized that the arraignment aims to uphold the integrity of the force’s uniforms and deter impersonation. The FCT Police Command stated, “Martins Otse will appear in court today over allegations of impersonation linked to his unauthorized use of Nigeria Police Force uniforms in a viral social media video.”
The statement urged interested parties to monitor the case as it unfolds, highlighting the Nigeria Police Force’s commitment to maintaining its symbols and preventing misuse. In the video, VeryDarkMan had introduced himself as “CSP VeryDarkMan” and referred to himself as Nigeria’s “number one online police officer.”
