Controversial Nigerian cross-dresser Idris Okuneye, better known as Bobrisky, has reportedly left the country just days after his release by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). The social media personality shared videos on his Instagram story on Monday, November 4, showing glimpses of his departure but keeping his destination undisclosed.
In one of the posts, Bobrisky hinted at the cost of his travel, writing, “See you soon, Nigeria. This girl bought a first-class ticket three times; that’s over 30 million. Raise the bar for this girl.”
Bobrisky’s recent encounters with law enforcement have been a subject of public attention. On October 31, he was removed from a KLM flight bound for Amsterdam at Lagos’ Murtala Muhammed International Airport. Earlier, on October 22, he was reportedly intercepted by authorities at the Sème border while allegedly attempting to leave Nigeria.
Amid his legal issues, Bobrisky claimed that EFCC officers accepted N15 million to drop charges of money laundering, leaving him to plead guilty solely to the abuse of the naira. The allegations were shared in a recorded call by social media personality Martins Vincent Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan. Bobrisky further alleged he spent his time in detention in a private apartment.
